Reiki

Reiki is a very gentle, non-invasive form of "energy work." The development of Reiki is attributed to a Japanese Buddhist named Mikai Usui (1865-1926). Reiki is based on the idea that there is life force energy that can be encouraged to flow. The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words. Rei means "God's Wisdom " and Ki (known as "Chi" is Chinese) is "life force energy."

What Does a Reiki Session Feel Like?

You begin by laying down, fully clothed, with relaxing music in the background. The Reiki practitioner will gently rest their hands on you in a series of positions, from the crown of the head to the feet. The Reiki practitioner holds the position for several minutes, then moves to the next position. A good Reiki session should be deeply relaxing and leave you feeling calmer and more balanced.
